Professor Dana York is a scientist, artist, humanitarian, and community leader whose life embodies the American Dream. Born Rozalia Dana Vieru (Rozana), she became a U.S. citizen under the Alien of Extraordinary Ability category, a recognition reserved for internationally acclaimed innovators.

She currently serves as:

• President, EMLA INC 501(c)(3), a nonprofit registered with NIH and NEA.

• President, Lions Club New York Agape Foundation, supporting victims of gender-based violence and leading humanitarian aid missions.

• President, Asia Pacific Laser Institute, Taiwan, advancing medical laser research and training across Asia.

• Honorary Professor, Kerala University (India).

• Former Clinical Assistant Professor, NYU College of Dentistry.

Dana is also an award-winning painter, pianist, and accomplished belly dancer. Her reverse-glass illuminated works, inspired by 17th-century Venetian and Jewish traditions, have been exhibited internationally, including at the Louvre in Paris, the Salmagundi Club in New York, and the Grand Synagogue of Cannes.

• Science & Medicine: Expert in laser medicine, photobiomodulation, and AI in healthcare.

• Global Institute Leadership: President of the Asia Pacific Laser Institute, Taiwan, and of the European Medical Laser Association, advancing medical laser applications worldwide.

• Conference Chair: Led international forums on surgery, anesthesia, vaccines, and artificial intelligence; organizer of the 2025 AI & Biotechnology Summit at NYU Linhart Center.

• Education: Graduate of NYU’s Academy of Distinguished Educators; curriculum developer for dentistry and biotechnology programs.

• Humanitarian Missions: Through the Lions Club, organized school supply drives in Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Congo, and Namibia, supported refugees in Romania, and donated art to synagogues in Cannes and Alpharetta.

• Personal Journey: Dana is herself a healed victim of violence and terrorism. Grateful to be alive and well, she takes the chance to help; she is determined to give others her wisdom to help them heal with dignity and hope. Respect is very important for her, and at the base of everything in a community that needs togetherness and healing

Dana York has proudly voted Republican and supported President Donald J. Trump. As Mayor.  She pledges to be a public servant for everyone, regardless of party, religion, or background.

Dana is a polyglot, speaks and works across cultures in:
