Professor Dana York Launches Write-In Campaign for Mayor of New York City, 2025

New York, NY – August 2025 – Professor Dana York, DDS, MS, PhD, internationally recognized doctor, educator, artist, and philanthropist, has formally announced her write-in candidacy for Mayor of New York City in the 2025 election.

Dr. York, President of the Lions Club New York Agape Foundation and the nonprofit EMLA INC 501(c)(3), enters the race with a platform grounded in compassion, equality, and fiscal responsibility. Unlike traditional campaigns, hers is built entirely on volunteerism and public service, with a personal pledge to donate 100% of her mayoral salary to charitable initiatives benefiting the people of New York.

“I am not a career politician,” York said. “I am a doctor, an educator, an artist, and a proud New Yorker by adoption. My candidacy is about service, not profit. I will take no salary as mayor, and I will work every day to make New York cleaner, safer, more compassionate, and more beautiful.”

Education: Free citywide community computer centers, equitable school meals and transportation, universal digital literacy.

Housing & Social Justice: Fast-tracking affordable housing, expanded supportive services for the homeless, veterans, and single mothers.

Public Health & Clean Environment: Citywide “Clean New York” initiative, expanded mental health access, and drug-free safe streets.

Arts & Culture: Creation of cultural centers in every borough, restoration of Art Deco heritage, and food security through “Restaurants of Hearts” programs.

Community & Equality: Intergenerational programs connecting youth and seniors, citywide volunteer initiatives, and equality for all regardless of income, religion, or immigration status.

York’s campaign also emphasizes unity and civility in public life, vowing to speak only with respect and to lead by example: “This campaign is about love over hate, and dignity over division.”

New Yorkers are encouraged to support Dana York’s grassroots movement by writing her name “Dana York” on the mayoral ballot line this November.
